Helly Hansen and Patagonia both make high end performance weather wear for sailing but they are pretty costly. Take a look at their products on line to get an idea of the look. Then you should be able to find similar models of Nautica, North Face and Columbia parkas and shell jackets at discount "offprice" shops sometimes, like TJ Maxx and Marshalls.
Check the sales at places like REI, Galyans and D1ck’s Sporting Goods for this type parka as well.
You want a jacket that’s windproof, has a hood, cuffs you can close tightly like with velcro or with a neoprene sleeve cuff inside, and a flap behind the zipper to keep out wind and rain. Stick with solid colors like red, bright blue, orange or yellow for visibility.

Professional working gear involving water spray and immersion is a massive difference from wearing salesman suits and a pea coat jacket.
To combine some function with the fashion, try these guys :
-NRS provides quality equipment without wiping out the wallet.
-Kokatat has excellent functional jackets for being on and in the water
-Stohlquist products are the result of a lifetime of hands-on experience
