Sailboats
Butterflygirl asked:

The second sails at 34 mph in a direction 220°. Assuming that both boats maintain speed and heading, after 2 hours, how far apart are the boats?

I’m so bad at these questions, what formula can I use to figure this out?

My family sails a lot, and I don’t want to worry about finding somebody to take care of my guinea pigs every time we go on a trip… does anybody know if they are okay on sailboats?

I recently inherited this boat — 1937, 35 feet, with sails and a restored motor. Unfortunately, the motor is the only restored item. The rest of the boat is need of structural work in order to make her sea-worthy once again. She was once (and can become again) a beautiful vessel. I am not knowledgable about sail boats, so I would like the future owner to be someone who will give her the care and attention she needs. I am sure that she will be an ideal investment for someone, who is willing to do (or fund) the repair work. Once the work has been completed, she will surely be worth a considerable amount of money, given her age. I sell lots of items on ebay, but somehow think that is not the best venue for this kind of transaction.

This painting is oil on canvas, two sail boats/yachts in a storm…..on one of the sails is a four digit number….and is older than I am. I have found very little about the artist, Deryek Foster, (that is how the painting is signed….it is also numbered)and in excellent condition.
I know he was a early 1900’s painter and then the trail goes nowhere and everywhere……..PLEASE HELP……..THANKS

Hi I have sailed a bit abroad with friends, I haven’t been out at all this year I’m looking for anyone who sails near Exeter /Devon who would be interested in a deck hand. I want to do my day skipper at some point which shouldn’t prove a problem! I also in the near future thinking about doing my Marine Engineering course, my problem at the moment is all the sailing I have done has been on CATS I would love to have the chance of meeting someone locally with a mono hull. I know for most it’s the wrong time of year now! I’m usefull to have a round I have a good sense of humour not work shy, I’m a qualified Mechanic and have spent some great times out sailing but it’s always been on big CATS in Majorca or Seychelles I need to experience Mono hulls in colder climates.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
