How much money would have to be made a year to live comfortably?

Yacht Charters
By comfortably, I mean like, not have to worry about running out of money. Not have to worry when you’re going shopping, and you can basically get what you want that’s within average reason. And by that, I mean not buying yachts and stuff like that.
I know my dad makes like, 800k or something. But my parents are divorced, and so I guess right now we’re living on half that or less. Which is pretty comfortable, so is 400k about it?
Thanks.

Many people I know live quite comfortably on less that $50,000 per year. Comfort means different things to different people. To many, comfort means making enough to feed and clothe their families, money to retire, giving to charity and spending time with family and friends.
On the flip side, making $400k/year does not guarantee a comfortable life. Deeper pockets usually mena bigger expenses.
According to Health and Human Services, the median income in the US for a family of 4 is $70,354.

it depends, actually.
some people make like a million a year and still end up borrowing money from the bank, because it depends on the kind of lifestyle you have and how you handle your finance.
do you pay other important stuff like bills, be it electricity, taxes and school fees?
how much do you spend on a daily basis on food, transportation and necessities?
you should be able to compute this by listing down all the things you spend your money on, then subtract it from your money. so basically, the excess goes to your luxuries, shopping and the like.
p.s. don’t forget to include ALL the stuff you spend on, from the basic expenses to the extra money you’ll have to keep in case of emergencies.
good luck!=)

It’s all about living below your means and budgeting. I suggest reading "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. It gives you some good guidelines on how to live comfortably in the future.

To me on my own I can lived comfortable on AU$30K.
But If I have a family, 1 boy, 1 girl
then I need at least 75K each year plus 2.5% CPI each year on my salary.
I lived moderately and I don’t spent on unnecessary things, e.g 5K Armani suits LOL.
