Most Captains earn in excess of $120,000 per year. It’s hard to figure per hour or day, because each trip is unique to itself. Some Captains work only one boat, others move from boat to boat, but each has both experiance and training. It’s a given that you work your way up, and learn by doing. So, your a mate first, possibly even a deck hand. Good luck!

It doesn’t work that way… You need to specify the RATING in TONS of the licenses along with ENDORSEMENTS. A 100 ton license, near coastal, with auxilliary sail endorsement will bring the holder about $300 per day… a 1600 Ton UNLIMITED will bring in $500 to $800 per day…
How much does a ‘mechanic’ make… it all depends on how you define ‘mechanic’… and the same is true about Ships Captains.
