How can I find out who owns megayachts?

When I see all the huge yachts in places like St. Barts or Antigua, I always wonder who owns them. Where can I find out who owns these yachts? For example, the yacht named, "Chevy Toy" or the yacht named s/y Drumbeat.

There is are a couple of magazines you can purchase to find out this information. Yachting magazine, once a year, produces "the top 100 yachts" and lists the owners and specs of the boat. Another great magazine is BOAT International, they regularly list the yachts of the world and their owners. Hope this helps!
PS – If you remember the name of the yacht, just type it into google.

You probably can’t. Many if not most of those people are REAL sensitive about letting outsiders know who they are and many of those Yachts are all tied up in syndicates and blind trusts. I’ve actually tried to find out some of them here in Antigua and usually end up hitting a brick wall and/or told to mind my own business.
